What  is State Emission Inspection?

·        Beginning in February, 2004, motorists in York, Lancaster and several other surrounding counties began a vehicle emission program that required most vehicles be emission inspected before having state safety inspection.  The Commonwealth of Pennsylvania had been under the gun for quite some time to institute emission inspection in a wider area.  York, Lancaster and Lebanon counties were among those counties

·        What does this mean to you?  When your inspection comes due, you have the same three months prior to your inspection expiration date, to bring your vehicle to us.  The age of your vehicle and the amount of miles you drive determines what emission test your vehicle receives.  After verifying you have a current registration and insurance coverage, we first test your vehicle’s emission system.

·        If it passes, we are then permitted to proceed with the safety inspection.

·        If your emission system fails, how much you need to spend will depend on why it failed.  But, the state does require the emission system to be worked on before we are allowed to perform the state safety inspection.

·        You can stop in and pick up more information from us on this program.

·        We have three certified emission inspection and repair technicians to service your car.  As always, we are making every effort to stay at the forefront of the automotive repair industry so that we can serve you better!
